OUR Team’s APPROACH

Divide and conquer

By splitting up our team into five sub-teams, each student can dive into their respective roles and gain invaluable experience from these opportunities. To manage our progression, we have two student Engineering Managers who take charge of the team's big-picture logistical planning. Then each of the five sub-teams has a single student leader who organizes that group's progression.

Design

The design team oversees and manages the specific design of components on the robot, including but not limited to arms, intakes, shooters, lifters, conveyors, and joints. Using the software Solidworks, the team collaboratively creates the final designs.

Fabrication

The fabrication Team is Responsible for the overall mechanical assembly of the robot. This subteam works alongside the design team to iterate the final robot design. Every team member is lined out on the shop tools and is comfortable collaborating on the robot components.

Electrical

This subteam is in charge of every electrical component on the robot, including pneumatics implementation, the position of all electrical components in overall mechanical design in CAD, and regular testing of components in conjunction with the programming team.

Code

The code team is responsible for the robot's overall software design and controls. All members program in Java and are in charge of integrating all sensors and actuators.

Business

The business team manages the logistical and operational side of the entire time. They track spending, use of materials, documentation of the building, and event planning.
